24/48/216 MW storage
. We are proud to introduce one of our energy storage projects located in Ghizdaru, Giurgiu. This project is crucial for the sustainable development of the national power grid and for the future of renewable energy in Romania.
Project Description
The Ghizdaru, Giurgiu energy storage project has an initial capacity of 24/48/216 MW, with the potential for modular expansion up to 432 MW. This facility is strategically integrated into the national electricity network (SEN) and is located just 4 km from the connection station, ensuring quick, efficient connectivity and very low connection costs to the Ghizdaru electric station.
Key Advantages
Proximity to Ghizdaru Station: Located just 4 km from the connection station in the National Energy System, ensuring rapid and efficient connectivity.
Land Features: The site is urban land designated for construction, privately owned, and spans 37,000 sqm. It includes power lines, poles, and a transformer station on-site.
Market Potential: Currently, there are only 7 operational energy storage parks in Romania, totaling 16.2 MW across 7 parks.
IRR: 3
Energy System Balancing: The project significantly contributes to balancing supply and demand in the national network, reducing energy imbalances.
Sustainable Development: Energy storage will become essential in the future, according to energy market trends in Europe.
Expansion Capacity: The project can be modularly expanded up to 480 MW, offering flexibility and adaptability to future demands.
Project Importance
Energy Interest Point: Ghizdaru is a critical energy hub in Romania, with significant development potential due to its proximity to the connection station and existing infrastructure.
Future of Energy Storage: Experts predict that battery energy storage will become mandatory in the future. In Romania, an estimated 74 GW of storage capacity is expected by 2030.
